Gaza is home to more than 2 million people, and approximately half of the population is made up of children under the age of 18 (UN). Our Children of Hope Commemorative Art Project will Honour the memory of over 8000 children killed in Gaza since Israel declared war on Hamas on 07 October 2023 in retaliation to a land, sea and air assault. According to Israel, the assault by Hamas led to over 1,200 deaths and the abduction of 240 Israeli citizens including children. Gaza’s Health Ministry figures indicate that Israel’s war in Gaza has resulted in more than 22,000 deaths as of January 1, 2024. About 70% of those killed are reported to be women and children. Another 57,296 Palestinians have been reportedly injured.

We are committed to creating at least 8000 art pieces for this project, but this number will be adjusted to reflect any additional losses of life that may occur as we progress toward project completion.
