Refugee Rights under International Law
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Our 5 week workshop will examine the international legal frameworks that protect the rights of refugees.
Designed for individuals passionate about social justice, human rights, and migration issues, this workshop offers a comprehensive exploration of the legal instruments, conventions, and principles that underpin refugee protection under international law.
Through a mix of online lectures, working group exercises and case studies participants will gain a profound understanding of the legal challenges faced by asylum seekers, the obligations of states towards displaced individuals, and the vital role of international organizations in safeguarding refugee rights. Participants will examine the concepts of non-refoulement, asylum, and durable solutions. They will also critically analyse policy approaches and humanitarian responses to accommodating refugee populations.
By the end of this workshop, participants will be well versed in the international legal protections afforded to refugees and the challenges facing individuals forced to seek asylum.
